Piglet needed a wash, been five weeks since she was last done. I see a bird bomb and think, I better get her washed, but then it rains and the impact of the water droplets breaks it up and washes it away and she’s clean again. Doh!
Washed the wheels, snow foamed her.
Rinsed, hand washed, rinsed, snow foam a sealant on then pressure washed in.
Dried with a quick detaile as as drying aid.

DAD, IS THAT YOU? DAD......
She's well looked after and it was essentially traffic film that need removed. She has a ghost from a bird bomb on the boot lid that has etched ever so slightly but I'll get a cheap hairdryer which will remove it easily enough.

I hear too many scare stories from hand car washers from friends car being damaged by cloths and cleaning agents, etc...
But I trust you know where your taking your car fella.
Piglet wasn’t filthy by any means but needed a wash. The only reason I was putting it off is it takes 30 minutes to wash and dry the car but 30+ minutes to set up the washing stuff.
Filling three buckets of water (wheels, wash and rinse), bleeding air out the hose and pressure washer (if you don’t you will drastically reduce the life of the water pump) before turning on the pressure washer, sorting out dilutions of snow foam, degreaser, foam lance applicated sealant, etc...

You can just wash your car like that on the street and not get a citation? I can’t even wash my car in my parking spot in my building...

Ye’, were allowed to. It’s not against any law or ordinance of any sort.
As long as your not obstructing traffic or anything, then your good to go.
I try to be considerate and not use the pressure washer before 10:30 but this morning I didn't realise what time it was and it was 9:20, but nobody came out to say anything.

I never get bored of seeing this car

Nor do I. Took some bits and pieces to the local tip and others in their BMWs and Hyundais were checking it out. Then went to get some new bedding and people were taking in her beauty.
I always do a double take as I walk away from her.
I do feel that maybe I over do posting pictures of her though and I don't want to annoy anyone.

Checking it out as you walk away is always a good sign. Eh I don't think you over post it, most seems happy to see the forbidden fruit from a North American perspective

Ye’, but I can see it being annoying fast if the car is liked but can’t be had.
She's not going to set the world alight with her 1.4 engine but she's a Mondeo size car for Focus money and the spec similar to a Titanium.

Possibly, but I think the vibe is better than that here. Yeah the value is really impressive

One day I'd love to do a driving holiday across Canada and possibly the U.S. in her. I think really stretch her legs.

That would probably be rather expensive... and I don't even know about the legality of it.

It is legally possible but ye', the finances for such a trip would a few thousand pounds.

That would be really cool. I see some expedition style rigs and smaller Mercedes and Fiat campers with European plates semi-often, but I don't think I've seen someone driving around here in a car that they brought

The boot is large enough for me to carry anything I'd need and buy stuff as and when I need them. I'm a big fan of hotel suites and usually get to find them at a price suitable for my wallet.

Only a few thousand? That's not bad at all.

It would be around £2-4,000 at most. The main expense will be renting a container or space in a container (if your prepared to share the container you can share the expense), the container can take from a week to a month from one port to the next depending on the route of the ship and access to the port at the other end.
With some ports in the U.S. it may be required to apply for a temporary U.S. licence plate, given a diplomatic licence plate or merely allowed on it’s way.
The easiest, cheapest and best way would be to enter ria Mexico or Canada (Canada being preferred as I'd like to visit quite a bit of Canada and a few destinations of the northern area of America.

One day when I can afford it.
There are many places I want to go. As I get older there are more historic connections to my home city I want to visit.

I know but I was feeling lazy and both needed the inside cleaning, which I hate to do, I except the risks! lol

The interior can be a PITA but a vacuum of the carpets and then a soft brush attachment run over the dash and centre console (the gloss surface is treated with a ceramic coating so won’t scratch easily) and a damp cloth over the kick plate and seat sides.
Actually Piglet needs a vacuum but she can wait till Wednesday.

It’s cleaning the inside windows and vacuming it I hate and don't even mention cleaning and conditioning the leather!

I wipe over the leather with a damp cloth and the inside windows with a microfibre glass cloth (not a regular microfibre cloth). That's a massive pet hate is people touching the inside of the windows especially the windscreen.
